901 Police personnel to be conferred with Police Medals: A total of 901 police officers have awarded Police Medals in honour of Republic Day 2023. 140 police officers have received the Police Medal for Valor, 93 have received the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, and 668 have received the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG) is awarded on the ground of Conspicuous Gallantry in saving life and property, or in preventing crime or arresting criminals.
