The College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Pookode, was formally inaugurated on 11 December 2004. The campus is sprawled over 100 acres in the scenic hilly terrain of Wayanad in Kerala, India. The College offers Under Graduate (BVSc & AH), Post Graduate (MVSc) and Doctoral (PhD) Programmes in Veterinary & Animal Sciences. The resources at COVAS Pookode include: Laboratories, Library, Clinical training, Farm training, Ambulatory clinic, Work experience/ enterpreunership, Student projects, Topic presentations & discussions and Study tours.

Eligibility Criteria
| UG | pass in higher secondary or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Biology/Botany & Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry (40% for OBC/MBC/BCM/EBC/BT/SC). The lower age limit is 17 years as on Dec. 31 during the year of admission and the upper age limit is 25 years as on Dec. 31 during the year of admission. The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for OBC/MBC/BCM/EBC/BT/SC. |
| PG | B.V.Sc & A.H Degree recognized by Veterinary Council of India with a minimum O.G.P.A of 6.0 in 10.0 point scale. (5.5 for SC/ST candidates). In other grading systems, OGPA/Marks will be appropriately proportioned with 10 point grading scale. Should not have completed 35 years as on 31st December 2018 (relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates). |
