Since then, the last Saturday of April is observed as WVD every year with a new theme that highlights a specific aspect of veterinary medicine. This day provides an excellent opportunity to recognize and appreciate the significant contributions made by veterinarians to society and to increase awareness about the field of veterinary medicine.
Along with various celebrations and events organized by veterinary associations and organizations worldwide, the WVA also presents the World Veterinary Day Awards.
