Shri Sanjay Chander, Director General of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), dedicated the newly built National Martyr’s Memorial and National Museum for Railway Security at Jagjivan RPF Academy in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. This martyr’s memorial is spread over an area of 4800 square meters and on this memorial, the names of 1014 martyred RPF personnel from 1957 till date have been inscribed and tribute has been paid to them on behalf of the RPF.

What is Hepatitis?

The World Hepatitis Alliance was founded in the year 2007, and in 2008, the first community-organised World Hepatitis Day was observed. This occurred after the World Health Assembly voted to honour Baruch Samuel Blumberg’s birthday. In the 1960s, he was the American physician who discovered Hepatitis B.

A No-Confidence Motion notice has been submitted by the Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) in the Lok Sabha against PM Narendra Modi’s Government over the Manipur issue.

The Congress and the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) have filed a no-confidence resolution in the Lok Sabha against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government over the Manipur issue. The notice has been accepted and the Speaker will announce the date of debate soon.

This no-confidence motion poses no threat to PM Modi’s government, which has a majority of at least 332 Lok Sabha members.

Reason:

The main reason of this action is the Manipur issue that have left over 125 people dead, thousands displaced and new tales of unspeakable horrors each day. The dispute, and the government’s inability to stop it after three months of bloodshed, has been a major cause of the ongoing stalemate in both houses of parliament since the monsoon session began on July 20th.

The opposition INDIA stated that their main aim to use the debate is to highlight the Manipur issue and pressurise the government to address the matter in the Parliament.

What is No-Confidence motion?

The No-Confidence motion signifies the state when one or more members of parliament have lost confidence in the appointed government. In that circumstances, the opposition can call the government’s majority and ability to govern into question, and if the challenge is successful, the administration must resign.

Rules to move No-Confidence Motion

A No-Confidence Motion can be moved by any member of the Lok Sabha but it must be supported by atleast 50 members of the House. The notice of the motion must be in written and presented before 10am and the Speaker will read it in the House.

After the motion is moved, the speaker will decide whether to admit the motion for discussion and debate. If admitted, the date of the motion must be scheduled within 10 days of acceptance by the Speaker.

Debate on No-Confidence Mation

The motion is being argued in the Lok Sabha by the person who proposed it. It is followed by the government’s answer, after which the opposition parties may speak.

After the debate, the Lok Sabha votes on the motion and it passes if supported by a majority of the members.

Outcome

There are two conditions:

• If the motion is passed, the government must resign.
• If the motion is not passed by the majority, the government remains in power.

• After Independence, CRPF contingents were tasked to check infiltration and trans-border crimes in Kutch, Rajasthan, and Sindh borders. Following Pakistan’s intrusion, they were deployed on the Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir.
• During the 1962 Indo-China war, the force once again assisted the Indian Army in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Furthermore, during the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971, the CRPF stood shoulder to shoulder with the Indian Army on both the Western and Eastern borders.
• CPRF was the first paramilitary force in India, which sent its forces in the United Nations Peacekeeping Missions. For the first time, 13 companies of CRPF including a detachment of women were airlifted to join the Indian Peacekeeping Force in Sri Lanka to fight the militant cadres.
• CRPF personnel were also sent to Haiti, Namibia, Somali, Maldives, Kosovo and Liberia to deal with the law and order situation there, as a part of another UN Peacekeeping Mission.

WHO identifies first case of MERS-CoV in UAE this year

The World Health Organization has identified a case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) in a 28-year-old male from United Arab Emirates. According to WHO, the patient is a resident of Al Ain city in Abu Dhabi, and had no travel history. He also presented no history of direct or indirect contact with dromedaries (camels), goats, or sheep.
