After 4 years, ratio of the ages of A to C is 6:5 and the age of B before 5 years is equal to the present age of A. The average age of B after 3 years and the present age of C is 22 years. Find the present age of C.

Sol:

Present age of A = 6x – 4

Present age of C = 5x – 4

Present age of B = 6x – 4 + 5 = 6x + 1

((6x + 1 + 3) + 5x – 4)/2 = 22

11x/2 = 22

x = 4

Present age of C = 5 * 4 – 4 = 16 years
