If the selling price of mobile and laptop in the ratio of 5: 6 and the shopkeeper sold the mobile and laptop at the profit of 25%

If the selling price of mobile and laptop in the ratio of 5: 6 and the shopkeeper sold the mobile and laptop at the profit of 25% and 20% respectively. If the shopkeeper gets the overall profit by selling mobile and laptop is Rs.4000, then what is the difference between the cost price of mobile and laptop?

A. Rs.2000

B. Rs.4000

C. Rs.6000

D. Cannot be determined

E. None of these

Sol:

SP of mobile = 5x

SP of laptop = 6x

CP of mobile = 5x * 100/125 = 4x

CP of laptop = 6x * 100/120 = 5x

(5x + 6x) – (4x + 5x) = 4000

2x = 4000

x = 2000

Difference between the CP of mobile and laptop

= 10000 – 8000 = 2000
