On March 10th, 2024, both NTPC and its renewable energy arm NGEL signed non-binding MoUs with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) in Jaipur. These agreements represent a significant stride towards improving the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the Chhabra Thermal Power Plant. The focus lies on exploring avenues for integrating supercritical units into the current infrastructure to modernize and enhance power generation.
Renovation and Modernization (R&M) Initiative
- NTPC and its affiliates will undertake a 15-year to 20-year annuity-based R&M project for older thermal units of RVUNL.
- The goal is to revamp existing units to meet contemporary efficiency and sustainability standards.

- NGEL, NTPC’s renewable energy arm, and RVUNL have partnered to develop Renewable Energy Projects in Rajasthan.

NTPC’s Vision for the Future
