Shri R K Chaturvedi, a 1987-batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, has assumed charge as Secretary in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India.
RK Chaturvedi is a 1987-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre. Prior to this, he served as an Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Culture.
He has worked as Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and as DG in the National Skill Development Authority (NSDA).
Department of Chemicals and PetroChemicals was established by GoI in 1991. The department functions under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers.
The department is responsible to make policy, planning, development, and regulation of Chemicals and Petrochemicals Industries.
