A shopkeeper buys some bottles for Rs.900, some lunch boxes for Rs.450 and some calculators for Rs.480. If he sells the bottles at10% loss, Lunch boxes at 40% profit and calculators at 10% loss, find his overall gain or loss?

A.            Rs.36 loss

B.            Rs.42 profit

C.            Rs.30 profit

D.            Rs.45 Loss

E.            No loss and no gain

Sol:

Total CP of all the products = 900 + 450 + 480 =

1830

Total SP of all the products = (900 * 90/100) +(

450 * 140/100) + (480 * 90/100)

= 810 + 630 + 432

= 1872

Profit = 1872 – 1830 = Rs.42
