A shopkeeper sold a mobile for Rs.14400 and incurred a profit. If he sold the mobile for Rs.11400, he incurred a loss which is equal to 25% of the amount of profit incurred, then find the cost price of the mobile?

A. Rs.12000

B. Rs.16000

C. Rs.15000

D. Rs.10000

E. None of these

 Sol:

Answer: A

Let the cost price of the mobile = x

(14400 – x) * 25/100 = x – 11400

14400 * 1/4 – x/4 = x – 11400

3600 + 11400 = x + x/4

4x + x = 15000 * 4

x = 15000 * 4/5

x = 12000
