ABCD is a square where P, Q, R and S are the mid-points of AB, BC, CD and DA respectively, then find the area of shaded region?

(a)          16 cm²

(b)          24 cm²

(c)           28 cm²

(d)          32 cm²

Sol:

Area of square ABCD = 2 × (62.5 + 65.5)

= 256 cm²

Now area of ∆PQR =1/8*256

= 32 cm²
