The highest temperature ever recorded was 46 °C (115 °F) on May 25, 1905, while the lowest was 2 °C (36 °F) on February 2, 1911. During the colder months, the district can experience cold waves due to the eastward movement of western disturbances across northern India, causing minimum temperatures to drop to around 2 to 4 °C (36 to 39 °F).
