All S-400 air defence missile systems of Russia will be delivered to India by 2025. The production of S-400 missiles to be delivered to India has started. The S-400, an upgraded version of the S-300, had previously only been available to the Russian defence forces.

The S-400 Triumf, previously known as the S-300PMU-3, is an anti-aircraft weapon system developed in the 1990s by Russia’s Almaz Central Design Bureau as an upgrade of the S-300 family. It has been in service with the Russian Armed Forces since 2007. Operational range of this air defence missile systems are 380 km (40N6E missile); 250 km (48N6 missile); 120 km (9M96E2 missile); 40 km (9M96E missile).
