Assam State government has launched Orunodoi Scheme or Arunodoi, a new scheme to empower women and provide financial assistance to economically vulnerable families.
In this Orunodoi Scheme, the Assam govt. will provide Rs. 830 per month to eligible 17 Lakh state resident families to buy essential food items.
The main objective of the Assam Orunodoi scheme is to financially help the deprived / poor families in the state and improvise their life through a substantial income support.
The state government has earmarked a sum of Rs. 280 crore for the new scheme.
The Arunodoi Scheme envisages poverty eradication and socio-economic inclusion of financial vulnerable families of the state.
It is done through sustainable financial aid by DBT, leveraging cash transfer on a monthly basis.
Assam Orunodoi Scheme will ensure that underprivileged families are assured of minimum monthly cash flow.
The other objective is to minimize multiplicity of schemes and consolidate them through DBT platform in aid of better delivery and outcomes.
