Average weight of 13 students in a class is 55 kg, out of which the average weight of the first 6 students is 53 kg

Average weight of 13 students in a class is 55 kg, out of which the average weight of the first 6 students is 53 kg and the average weight of next 6 students out of the remaining 7 is 56 kg, then find the weight of the remaining one student.

a)            61 kg

b)            57 kg

c)            64 kg

d)            59 kg

e)            60 kg

Sol:

Sum of weights of 13 students = 13 * 55 = 715 kg

Sum of weights of first 6 students = 6 * 53 = 318 kg

Sum of weights of last 6 students = 6 * 56 = 336 kg

Wight of remaining one student = 715 – 318 –336 = 61 kg
