The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has formally formed a committee for the differently-abled cricketers of the country to enable them to play under the aegis of the BCCI.
In April this year, the Apex Council of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) recognized the Cricket Council for Disabilities of India (DCCI) as the sole entity to promote cricket among the physically challenged, deaf, blind and wheelchair participants. Disability cricketers have welcomed the decision of the BCCI to form a Differently Abled Committee for the differently-abled cricketers. On the basis of the recommendation of the Justice Lodha committee, a board of three former disabled cricketers was being awaited for the last several years.
