CM Yogi Adityanath Inaugurates UP’s First Floating Restaurant In Prayagraj

In a groundbreaking move for the state of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the state’s first floating air-conditioned restaurant during his visit to Sangam City. The restaurant, managed by the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC), is set to redefine the dining experience for visitors on the picturesque Yamuna river.

A Unique Dining Experience on the Yamuna

The newly inaugurated floating restaurant is poised to become a unique attraction in Prayagraj. With a seating capacity for approximately 40 visitors at a time, it offers an exquisite choice of cuisine and beverages, including sizzler steaks and mocktails. This venture aims to enhance tourism in Sangam City, providing locals and tourists alike with an unprecedented culinary experience surrounded by the natural beauty of the Yamuna.

Diverse Menu Options and Exclusive Interiors

Guests at the floating restaurant can indulge in a diverse range of culinary delights, from sizzler steaks to street food, and a selection of refreshing beverages. DP Singh, senior manager at UPSTDC, revealed that the restaurant boasts unique interiors and special light arrangements to create a memorable ambiance. The addition of LED panels ensures an uninterrupted scenic view, allowing diners to enjoy the picturesque surroundings during their meal.

Safety Measures and Additional Attractions

To prioritize visitor safety, UPSTDC has taken proactive measures by acquiring two rescue boats for emergencies and ten motor boats. These precautions are part of the comprehensive plan to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all patrons. The floating restaurant is just one of the many attractions offered by UPSTDC in the area, which include speed boat rides and 30-seater catamaran hulls along the river.

Future Plans and Maha Kumbh 2025

As part of future developments, plans are underway to construct a slipway – a track on which boats can move in the water. This addition will further enhance the overall experience for visitors. The floating restaurant, along with the array of boating experiences, is expected to be a major draw for the Maha Kumbh festival scheduled to take place in 2025. The unique offering aligns with the state’s efforts to boost tourism and showcase Prayagraj as a cultural and recreational destination.

Mumbai-Based Construction and Location

Constructed by a Mumbai-based company, the floating restaurant features a pre-fabricated structure covering a 204 square meter area. Its strategic location on the banks of the Yamuna in front of the Triveni Darshan hotel adds to the accessibility and allure of this new attraction. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his satisfaction at being present for the grand opening, highlighting the significance of this addition to the city’s tourism landscape.
