Sarabhai was the daughter of industrialist Ambalal Sarabhai & sister of Dr Vikram Sarabhai. She also established the Calico Museum of Textiles.
She was trained at the famous Taliesin West Studio in Arizona with noted architect and designer Frank Lloyd Wright.
