Vice President Venkaiah Naidu confers Sangeet Natak Akademi and Lalit Kala Akademi Fellowships and Awards

Forty-three eminent artists were presented the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship and Sangeet Natak Awards for 2018 while the Lalit Kala Akademi’s Fellowship and National Awards for 2021 were given to 23 people by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu in a joint ceremony here on Saturday.

The awards were presented during the 62nd National Exhibition of Art, organised by the Lalit Kala Akademi and inaugurated by Minister of Culture, Shri G. Kishan Reddy on April 09, 2022 in New Delhi.

RBI releases Guidelines on Establishment of Digital Banking Units (DBUs)

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday issued guidelines for the establishment of ‘Digital Banking Units’ as announced in the Union Budget 2022-23 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman earlier this year. In the Union Budget 2022-23 the finance minister made announcements for setting up of 75 Digital Banking Units (DBUs) in 75 districts to commemorate the 75 years of independence of the country. To achieve this objective, the Reserve Bank of India has released the guidelines on the establishment of Digital Banking Units (DBUs). 

Digital Banking Unit (DBU): It will be a specialised fixed point business unit / hub housing certain minimum digital infrastructure for delivering digital banking products & services as well as servicing existing financial products & services digitally, in both self-service and assisted mode for a minimum of 4 hours per day for at least five days a week.

Which Banks can open Digital Banking Unit?– Scheduled Commercial Banks (other than RRBs, Payments Bank and Local Area Banks) with past digital banking experience are permitted to open DBUs in Tier 1 to Tier 6 centres.

In the book Rai has narrated his stint of 33 months at BCCI, when he was appointment as the head of the Supreme Court-mandated Committee of Administrators (CoA) in the BCCI. The book has been published by Rupa Publications India.

Vinod Rai served as 11th Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in 2008. He was also appointed the first chairman of the newly created Banks Board Bureau (BBB) during 2016-2018.

Other books written by him includes: Not Just an Accountant: The Diary of the Nation’s Conscience Keeper and Rethinking Good Governance: Holding to Account India’s Public Institutions.

Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has released 72,124 Dollars to the UNESCO Fund for Elimination of Doping in Sport in 2022.

In the 7th COP, the State Parties had agreed for the contribution of 1% of the regular budget of the respective nations to UNESCO towards the Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport.

India has contributed USD 28172 towards the UNESCO Fund in 2021. The Fund for the Elimination of Doping in Sport was established in 2008.

The Union Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change Shri Bhupender Yadav chaired the 20th Meeting of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) which was held in Pakke tiger reserve in Arunachal Pradesh on 9th April 2022. The meeting was chaired by Union Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change Shri Bhupender Yadav.

It is for the first time in history the NTCA meeting, that it took place outside the national capital. The Union Minister had directed that in order to get first hand information about reserve, local issues etc. these meetings will be held outside Delhi in forest areas or in tiger reserves, henceforth.

Uttarakhand government launched 1064 Anti-Corruption Mobile App

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched an anti-corruption mobile app named 1064 Anti-Corruption Mobile App.

This mobile application has been developed by the vigilance department, Uttarakhand. It helps the citizens to lodge corruption-related complaints directly with the authorities.

Currently, the app is available in both Hindi and English language. Registered complaints, data and the identity of the complainant will be protected.

India successfully flight-tested Pinaka Mk-I (Enhanced) Rocket System and Pinaka Area Denial Munition Rocket Systems

Pinaka Mk-I (Enhanced) Rocket System (EPRS) and Pinaka Area Denial Munition (ADM) rocket systems have been successfully flight-tested by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Army at Pokhran firing ranges. The EPRS is the upgraded version of the Pinaka variant, which has been in service with the Indian Army for the last decade.

The rocket system has been upgraded with advanced technologies and enhanced range to meet the emerging requirements. The Pinaka rocket system has been developed by DRDO lab- Armament Research and Development Establishment, Pune in collaboration with High Energy Materials Research Laboratory, Pune.

The three apex bodies under Ministry of Ayush namely, Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy, National Commission for Homoeopathy and National Institute of Homoeopathy are jointly organising this convention on the World Homoeopathy Day which is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of the founder of Homoeopathy, Dr. Christian Fredrich Samuel Hahnemann. This convention is an opportunity to review the achievements in the field of Homoeopathy and to formulate future strategies for development of Homoeopathy.

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has signed a pact with National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), ISRO for technical collaboration.

NRSC will develop Bhuvan-Aadhar portal for providing information and locations about the Aadhaar centres across India.
