Govt to conduct the National Achievement Survey (NAS) on Friday (12th November) across the country.
Union Govt has been implementing the rolling programme of sample-based NAS aimed at Classes III, V, VIII, and X with a cycle period of 3 years. The last National Achievement Survey (NAS) was held on 13 November 2017 for assessing the competencies developed by the children at the grade levels 3, 5, and 8.
Aim: To assess the learning interruptions and new learnings during the COVID pandemic and help to take remedial measures.
India’s vice-captain, Rohit Sharma has been officially announced as Team India’s T20 International captain, replacing Virat Kohli, the cricket board said after the side were dumped out of the World Cup.

Morinari Watanabe defeated Azerbaijan’s contender Farid Gayibov, in the FIG President election that was held during a conference in Turkey. Earlier, He was elected as the President of FIG in 2016 for a 4-year term beginning January 2017.
Japanese official Watanabe was challenged for the Presidency by Farid Gayibov of Azerbaijan. His term was then extended by one year. He will now continue to hold the position till 2024.

The National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) has gone digital by launching a ‘digital payment gateway’. NIXI is a non-profit firm under the aegis of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). It has launched the digital payment gateway across its three business units by integrating the payment gateways on all its customer-facing websites for ease of use.
It will lead to increased ease of use for NIXI’s customers by offering real-time payments, providing uninterrupted services, and ensuring a seamless experience to all stakeholders. NIXI has partnered with PayU and NSDL to offer Payment gateway services.

Beauty startup Nykaa’s founder Falguni Nayar has become India’s wealthiest self-made female billionaire, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, as shares made a strong stock market debut. She founded Nykaa in the year 2012.
She holds a 53.5% stake in Nykaa and has a net worth of USD 7.48 billion. This comes after the IPO of FSN E-Commerce Ventures which is Nykaa’s parent entity. This is also the first woman-led unicorn to list on the stock exchange. The issue size of the IPO of FSN E-Commerce Ventures (Nykaa) was Rs 5,351.92 crore with face value of Rs 1 per share.

FW de Klerk, the former president of South Africa and the last white person to lead the country, has passed away due to cancer. The 85-year-old had been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
He came to power in 1989 under apartheid, a system of legalized racism, but later became a key figure in the transition to democracy. In 1993, De Klerk and Nelson Mandela jointly received the Nobel Peace Prize for their work towards ending apartheid.
