The Madhya Pradesh government has announced Mukhyamantri Awasiya Bhu-adhikar Yojna to provide free plots to families that don’t have land to build their own homes.
Aim: ensuring that every family has the right to a dignified life with basic necessities
It has been started to provide residential plots to the eligible families on Abadi land in each Gram Panchayat. Under the scheme, district collectors have been empowered with respect to the availability of Abadi land. Under the Mukhyamantri Awasiya Bhu-adhikar Yojna, the state government has issued guidelines for the allotment of plots in rural areas.
The 7th Indian Navy Frigate of P1135.6 class was launched on October 28 2021 at Yantar Shipyard, Kaliningrad, Russia, the navy said. During the ceremony, the ship was formally named as Tushil by Datla Vidya Varma, the Navy said in a statement. “Tushil” is a Sanskrit word meaning Protector Shield, it said.
The ship has been developed under the Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) between India and Russia in 2016 for the construction of four additional P1135.6 class ships for the Indian Navy. Tushil will be commissioned into the Indian Navy in mid-2023 followed by its sister ship by the end of 2023. The Project 1135.6 class is also called Talwar class and the Talwar class frigates are built by Russia for the Indian Navy.
The critically endangered New Zealand long-tailed bat has been named the New Zealand Bird of the Year 2021. The pekapeka-tou-roa, or long-tailed bat, swooped to victory in the public vote to be crowned 2021’s Bird of the Year!
The Bird of the Year competition is organized annually by New Zealand-based independent conservation organization Forest & Bird to raise awareness among the citizens about the native birds of the country.

The reason: “Vax” was used 72 times as much as it was in 2020. Vax is used as a short form for vaccines and means a substance put into a person’s body to prevent them from getting a disease.

Telangana’s capital city Hyderabad is now home to India’s largest landfill gas-to-compressed biogas plant as Ramky Enviro has inaugurated the facility at the Hyderabad Integrated Municipal Solid Waste (HiMSW) site.
The project is focused on the conversion of landfill gas into compressed biogas as an automotive fuel. The project offers significant benefits such as carbon sequestration and reduced emissions of GHGs into the environment and contributes to the greening of the automotive industry. The end product of the plant will be sold to Bhagyanagar Gas Ltd.
Pensioners can now subscribe for the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) pension scheme via Aadhaar eKYC. Pension fund regulator Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has added these options to expand its subscriber base and make the onboarding process simpler.

PFRDA is allowing enrollment of subscribers through physical, net banking, and other digital modes, at present. After an APY account is opened, Atal Pension Yojana-Service Provider (APY-SP) will offer subsequent servicing to the subscribers. APY was launched in June 1, 2015.
As world leaders prepared to gather for the UN climate change conference, COP26, in Glasgow in the UK, India launched an online dashboard – the ‘Climate Equity Monitor’ to assess equity in climate action, inequalities in emissions besides energy and resource consumption across the world.
The dashboard also tracks the climate policies of several countries from the perspective of developing countries. The website has been conceptualized and developed by independent researchers from India — the Climate Change Group at the M.S Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai.

National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) celebrates Ganga Utsav every year to mark the anniversary of the announcement of River Ganga as the ‘National River’ i.e. 4th November. This year’s Ganga Utsav is being organized from 1stto 3rd November 2021. The 2021 event has been organized under the leadership of the Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The “Ganga Utsav 2021 – The River Festival “ will not only celebrate the glory of the river Ganga but all the rivers of the country to promote the celebration of ‘Nadi Utsav’ (River Festival).
The annual event is organized by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) jointly with the Ministry of Jal Shakti to mark the anniversary of the announcement of River Ganga as the ‘National River’ on November 04, 2008. The International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists (IDEI) is an UN-recognized international day observed annually on 2 November.
Purpose: to prevent all attacks and violence against journalists and media workers; to ensure accountability, bring to justice perpetrators of crimes against journalists and media workers, and ensure that victims have access to appropriate remedies.
The date of November 2nd was chosen to mark the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against journalists to commemorate the assassination of French journalists in Mali in 2013.
The Australian cricket community is mourning the death of Test legend Alan Davidson, who passed away aged 92 morning surrounded by family.
Davidson was the first player to achieve the feat of scoring 100 runs as well as take 10 wickets in a single Test match. The legendary left-arm swing bowler played 44 Tests for Australia in which he claimed 186 wickets at an amazing average of 20.53, which has been bettered only by 14 bowlers and scored 1328 runs.
