Coal Ministry launches Koyla Darpan Portal to share Key Performance Indicators

Coal Secretary Dr. Anil Kumar Jain today launched Koyla Darpan Portal to share Key Performance Indicators related to the Coal Sector. The portal was launched by Dr. Anil Kumar Jain, Secretary, Ministry of Coal on January 21, 2022. The portal will have the Key Performance Indicators related to Coal Production, Status of Coal Stock in Thermal Power Plants, Allocation of Blocks, Monitoring of Major Coal Mines and Coal Price.

The portal can be accessed through the website of Ministry of Coal (https://coal.gov.in).

Initially nine KPIs have been listed on the portal. These includes:

1. Coal/Lignite Production,

2. Coal/Lignite Offtake,

3. Exploration Data,

4. Central Sector Schemes,

5. Status of Coal Stock in Thermal Power Plants,

6. Infrastructure Projects,

7. Allocation of Blocks (CMSP/MMDR),

8. Monitoring of Major Coal Mines(CIL),

9. Coal Price.

City Union Bank launches CUB Easy Pay integrated Debit Card in a Fitness Watch

City Union Bank Ltd. announced the launch of “On the Go Payment Solution through Debit card in a Fitness Watch.” The wristwatch will be mapped to the operative account of the customer.

CUB EASY PAY is a payment method by City Union Bank. Now the bank has integrated this feature of Debit Card in a Fitness Watch. To make payments at PoS machines, customers need to hold their wristwatch in front of the PoS device like tapping the card on PoS. For payments above Rs 5,000, customers need to tap and fill in their PIN. Customers can also set a limit for their payments using Net/Mobile banking.

In December 2021, City Union Bank had launched CUB Easy Pay Keychain, a wearable payment device that allows to tap and pay purchases on merchant PoS.

Rs 12 crore siphoned off by hackers from of Andhra Pradesh Mahesh Co-op Urban Bank

Servers of city-based Andhra Pradesh Mahesh Co-operative Urban Bank were hacked by some people and funds to the tune of nearly Rs 12 crore were allegedly fraudulently transferred to several bank accounts across the country, police said on Tuesday.

The amount was not siphoned from the accounts of the customers rather it was transferred from the funds of the bank. Further, the bank’s funds are insured against cyber attacks. A police official said a case was registered and a team visited the bank’s main branch as part of investigation. The head office of AP Mahesh Co-op Urban Bank is located at Hyderabad, Telangana.

India and Israel launch commemorative logo to mark 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties

India and Israel have launched a commemorative logo on January 24, 2022 to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. The logo was unveiled virtually yesterday at an online event in the presence of Ambassador of Israel to India Naor Gilon and Indian envoy to Israel, Sanjeev Singla. The logo features the respective symbols of the national flags of both countries, that is Ashoka Chakra and the Star of David.

The symbols forms the numeral 30 depicting the 30th anniversary of bilateral relations. The diplomatic relations between Israel and India was established on 29 January 1992.

The new features will benefit more than 40 lakh beneficiaries with real-time information from the convenience of their homes. CSCs launches Yogyata mobile app to impart skill-based vocational education to rural youths

Common Services Centers (CSC) has launched the ”Yogyata” mobile phone application to provide vocational education and skill enhancement opportunities to youth and citizens in rural areas. Through this Yogyata App, CSCs aims to provide industry-based skills to youth in rural areas and thereby make them job-ready. CSC said in the statement that the app will leverage the reach of Common Service Centers in the target group and provide access to courses that enhance skills and educational qualifications.

The enrolments under the app will be carried out by the Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLE).

India’s first virtual platform for spice exports ‘Spice Xchange India’ was launched on Thursday. The Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Parkash inaugurated India’s first portal for spice exports named ‘Spice Xchange India’ at a hybrid event held in Kochi. The spicexchangeindia.com, developed by the Spices Board, is a 3D virtual platform aimed at connecting India’s spice exporters with buyers from around the world.

The spicexchangeindia.com portal has been launched by the Spices Board of India.

Indian film Koozhangal wins Best Film Award at 20th Dhaka International Film Festival 2022

The Oscar-nominated Tamil film ‘Koozhangal’, has bagged the Best Film Award in the Asian Film Competition category at the Dhaka International Film Festival 2022. Information and Broadcasting Minister of Bangladesh Hasan Mahmud gave away the awards as Chief Guest during the concluding session organised at the National Museum auditorium in Dhaka.

Assam Confers ‘Assam Baibhav’ Award To Industrialist Ratan Tata

The state government of Assam has conferred its highest civilian award ‘Assam Baibhav’ for the year 2021 on industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata. Assam governor Jagdish Mukhi was confer the award to the former chairman of Tata sons on 24 January, 2022 in Guwahati. 

Mr Tata has been awarded for “his exceptional contribution towards furthering cancer care in Assam”. The award was presented by Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi on January 24, 2022. Assam Baibhav is the highest civilian award in the State of Assam. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.5 lakh (US$6,600).
