The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has been ranked as best in the country by the latest Asian University Ranking 2022 released by Quacquarelli Symonds Rankings. The National University of Singapore has come up as Asia’s best university for the 4th consecutive year.
China’s Peking University at 2nd position and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and the University of Hong Kong in Hong Kong at 3rd. The top three Indian universities to feature on the Asia Rankings are IIT Bombay (42), IIT Delhi (45), and IIT Madras (54).
Global giants like Amazon and Apple in addition to Mahindra Group and Dalmia Cement (Bharat) from India have joined as founding members of the ‘First Movers Coalition’ to work in direction of driving demand for zero-carbon applied sciences, the World Economic Forum has mentioned. The Coalition has been launched on the COP26 Summit being held in Glasgow.

Britain became the first country in the world to approve a potentially game-changing COVID-19 antiviral pill jointly developed by U.S.-based Merck & Co Inc (MRK.N) and Ridgeback Biotherapeutics, in a boost to the fight against the pandemic.
The antiviral Lagevrio (molnupiravir) has been found to be safe and effective at reducing the risk of hospitalization and death in people with mild to moderate COVID-19. Molnupiravir was originally created to treat flu and could go on to be prescribed twice a day diagnosed with COVID-19.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson have launched a ‘green grids’ initiative—the One Sun One World One Grid (OSOWOG) project—on the sidelines of the COP26 summit during the World Leaders’ Summit of COP26 on November 02, 2021.
The project aims to connect energy grids across borders to facilitate a faster transition to the use of renewable energy.

World Urbanism Day, also known as “World Town Planning Day”, is observed on 8th November globally, to recognize and promote the role of planning in creating livable communities. WUD is organized by the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP).
