RBI approves 2-yr extension of Murli Natarajan’s tenure as MD-CEO of DCB Bank
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the re-appointment of Murli M Natarajan as the managing director and chief executive officer (MD & CEO) of DCB Bank for a period of two years, from April 29, 2022 to April 28, 2024.
Natrajan has been serving as the managing director and chief executive officer (MD & CEO) of DCB Bank since April 2009. He will complete 15 years at the helm of the bank in 2024.

International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Rwanda Genocide 2022
On 7 April, UNESCO commemorates the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly (link is external)in 2003. This day marks the genocide against members of the Tutsi.
The main objective of this day is to make people aware of genocides and the consequences of the crime. In 2003, the United Nations General Assembly designated this day. Over 1 million Tutsi were systematically murdered within just over 100 days.

ADB projects India’s economy to grow by 7.5% in FY23
Asian Development Bank on Wednesday projected a seven percent collective growth for South Asian economies in 2022 with the subregion’s largest economy India growing by 7.5 percent in the current fiscal year before picking up to eight percent the next year. Pakistan’s growth will be four percent in 2022 on weaker domestic demand.

Union Bank launches super-app UnionNXT, digital project SMBHAV
The Union Bank of India (UBI) has launched its super-app named UnionNXT on April 06, 2022. The app UnionNXT will offer a number of services including payments, online shopping, bill payments, recharges, investment, loans, and fund transfers, on a single platform.
Union Bank of India is looking for recovery from the spending in 2 years and aims to have 50% of business originating on the digital platform by 2025.
