Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a bilateral meeting with Uzbekistan counterpart Lt Gen Bakhodir Kurbanov on Tuesday. “Raksha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh at the bilateral meeting with the Defence Minister of Uzbekistan, Lt Gen Bakhodir Kurbanov in Tashkent,” the office of the Defence Minister of India tweeted. During the Annual Meeting, the SCO Member States will discuss defence cooperation and it is expected that a joint communique will be issued after the deliberations. Rajnath Singh’s address at the meeting is slated to be held on August 24, 2022.

Defence cooperation issues among the SCO Member States will be discussed during the SCO Defence Ministers’ meeting. During his stay in Tashkent, Mr Singh will pay homage at the monument of Late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and also meet the Indian Diaspora in Uzbekistan.
