Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh has left for a three-day visit to Russia during which he is expected to ask Moscow to urgently supply spares required by the Indian military against the backdrop of tensions with China. His visit is to attend the ceremonies associated with the 75th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Germany in the Second World War.

Singh would seek 21 MiG-29s from Russia as well as 12 Sukhoi MKI.
Singh is expected to discuss these issues with his Russian counterpart on the sidelines of ceremonies associated with Victory Day celebrations.
He would discuss about the early deliver of S-400 missile defence system.
The visit to Russia will give me an opportunity to hold talks on ways to further deepen the India-Russia defence and strategic partnership. If the Russia agree to delivers the S-400 missile defence systems to India, it would be better for Indian solders which are continuously facing war in the boarders with China and Pakistan.
