Delhi government has launched Girls Marriage Scheme for the Poor Window’s Daughter & Orphan Girls Marriage Scheme 2020. The revised eligibility criteria is now applicable for Financial Assistance for Marriage of Daughters of Poor Widows and Orphan Girl Scheme in Delhi.

Key-Points
The main aim of the scheme is to provide financial assistance of Rs. 30,000 to the poor widows for performing marriage of their daughters.
This marriage assistance amount will enable them to meet expenses involved in solemnizing marriage of their daughters and also to orphan girls for their marriage.
Now the state govt. will provide financial assistance for the marriage of orphan girls and daughters of poor widows whose earning is upto Rs. 1 lakh per annum.
With the raising of the income ceiling, more widows and orphan girl will be able to apply for financial aid in Delhi marriage assistance scheme.
This scheme was been transferred from the Department for the Welfare of SC/ ST/ OBC/ Minority to Social Welfare Department from the financial year 2006-07. At present it is being implemented by Department of Women & Child Development GNCTD.
