The drainage basin is a logical place to start our geography lessons. It corresponds to the area where rainfall flows into a stream, river, lake, or other body of water. The end of this surface may be in a number of forms: sea, ocean, lake, or expansion into groundwater. In addition to the endpoint, the entire surface of a drainage basin is usually named by some other means or another considering that many areas have different names.
