Indian Institute of Technology Ropar is a higher education institute located on the river Satluj in Rupnagar, Punjab.
It was founded in 2008 and is one of the eight newer Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011.
