Eminent educationist & social activist Prof Deven Dutta passes away: Deven Dutta, a consumer rights campaigner and former vice-principal at Cotton University, died at the age of 81. Deven Dutta was born on April 5, 1944 in Nazira, Sivasagar, and was living in Guwahati’s Sundarpur neighbourhood. He completed his post-graduation in English in the year 1965 and started his career as a professor of English at Cotton College. He was also a renowned litterateur and columnist.
