Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi died at the age of 86 years. He represents Titabor Assembly constituency in Jorhat district, was among 24 legislators from the state to have contracted the infection.

He served as the Chief Minister of Assam from 2001 to 2016 and was the longest serving Chief Minister of the state.
