Funds sanctioned for installing RTIS System in 6,000 more locomotives
The Railway Ministry informed Parliament that additional funds have been sanctioned in 2019 for installation of Real-Time Train Information System (RTIS) in 6,000 more locomotives, both passenger and goods.

The control chart of trains drawn by RTIS enabled locomotives will get plotted automatically in the Control Office Application (COA) system that is already implemented in the control offices. It will give mid-section location updates, including the current speed of the train, with a periodicity of 30 seconds. It is primarily used for acquisition of train movement data, including that of arrival, departure, run-through timings at stations in route.
