GSMA elects Airtel CEO Vittal as Deputy Chair: Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal was elected as deputy chair of the Global System for Mobile communications Association (GSMA). Bharti Airtel chief executive officer Gopal Vittal has been elected as the deputy chair of GSMA, a global mobile operators body. Vittal will hold the post for a two-year term starting January 1, 2023. The member companies elected 26 board members for 2023-24 which includes senior executives of mobile operators. Telefonica Group CEO José María Álvarez-Palete López continues as Chairman of the GSMA Board.
