Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology (HIET) was built up in Chennai in 1966 in light of the requirement for non-formal specialized training. Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology is controlled by the Hindustan Engineering Training Center (HETC) Educational society, which is enlisted as a Technical Education Society under the Societies Act, XXI of 1860.
