Q.

In a company, there is (2k + 80) employees. On a rainy day, one third of male employees those present on that day is 480 less than number of females present on that day. On that day, 75% of females are present, and 20% of total employees is on leave. Find the value of k, if number of female employees in company is twice as that of male employees?

A.800

B.640

C.560

D.480

E. None of these

Ans: 560

Sol:

Let thenumber of male employees in company =100p
So, number of female employees = 2 x 100p =200p

Number of female employee present = 75% x
200p = 150p
Total employees present = 80% x 300p = 240p
So, number of male employee present = 240p –
150p = 90p
Now,
150p – 1/3 x (90p) = 480
120p = 480
Value of p = 4
Total employees = 300 x 4 = 1200
So, (2k + 80) = 1200
Value of k = 1120/2 = 560
Hence answer is option C
