Indian Army conducts airborne rapid response exercise near Siliguri Corridor
The Indian Army conducted a two-day airborne insertion and rapid response exercise near theSiliguri Corridor, from March 24 to March 25, 2022, to test the readiness of rapid response teams.
The Siliguri Corridor is a strategically important region, and is also known as Chicken’s Neck. The Siliguri Corridor is a stretch of land in Siliguri city of West Bengal. The Siliguri Corridor, which is a strategically important region, is a stretch of land bordering Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh. Near the Siliguri Corridor is the India-Tibet-Bhutan tri-junction where China has enhanced military infrastructure since the Doklam standoff in 2016.
