
The First Training Squadron (1TS) of the Indian Navy, consisting of INS Sujata, INS Shardul, and ICGS Veera, has successfully completed its visit to Phuket Deep Sea Port in Thailand. This visit included coordinated tactical maneuvers, professional exchanges, and joint exercises with the Royal Thai Navy (RTN), enhancing the maritime partnership between India and Thailand.
Key Highlights of the Visit
1. PASSEX Exercise
- The Indian Navy conducted coordinated tactical maneuvers and an exchange of sea riders with HTMS Huahin on March 4, 2025.
- The exercise enhanced interoperability and operational coordination between the two navies.
2. Bilateral Naval Activities
- Indian and Thai naval personnel participated in various professional exchanges, training visits, and social interactions.
- Through discussions on regional security and joint training opportunities, the Navy-to-Navy relations were significantly enhanced.
3. High-Level Meetings
- Capt Anshul Kishore, Senior Officer of 1TS, and the Commanding Officers of INS Shardul, INS Sujata, and ICGS Veera met Vice Admiral Suwat Donsakul, Commander of the 3rd Naval Area Command.
- Discussions covered regional security, training collaborations, and goodwill initiatives.
4. Training & Cultural Engagements
- Sea trainees from 1TS visited Phangna Naval Port, HTMS Krabi, and the 3rd Naval Area Command to exchange best practices.
- A guided tour of the 1TS ships was organized for school children, RTN personnel, and members of the Indian diaspora.
- Additionally, a combined yoga session and friendly sports matches were hosted to strengthen cultural ties.
5. Public Engagements & Diplomacy
- An Indian Naval band concert at Patong Beach drew a large crowd of tourists and locals.
