
India has taken a major step towards promoting global peace and harmony with the launch of its first World Peace Center in Gurugram, Haryana. Founded by Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti and guided by Jain Acharya Lokesh, the center focuses on encouraging non-violence, spiritual awareness, human values, and universal brotherhood.
The grand inauguration ceremony featured former President Ram Nath Kovind, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and a number of prominent spiritual leaders, such as Shri Shri Ravi Shankar, Morari Bapu, and Govinddev Giri. In addition, Swami Ramdev, the founder of Patanjali Yogpeeth, participated virtually and conveyed his greetings.
The establishment of the World Peace Center is being hailed as a landmark initiative that will amplify India’s voice on peace and harmony at global platforms, including the United Nations (UN) and the World Parliament of Religions.
Key Objectives of the World Peace Center
- Promoting Non-Violence and Peace – The center aims to spread the message of ahimsa (non-violence) and inspire individuals to adopt peaceful practices in their personal and professional lives.
- Spiritual and Moral Upliftment – Through discourses, workshops, and meditation sessions, the center will help reawaken spiritual consciousness and moral values.
- Global Harmony and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The center will emphasize the concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The World is One Family), encouraging global cooperation and unity.
- Environmental and Ethical Awareness – The center will also focus on addressing issues like climate change, ethical leadership, and social responsibility.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed his belief that the World Peace Center will keep inspiring future generations and help position Gurugram as a global center for peace and non-violence.
