International Day of Action for Rivers is annually observed across the globe on 14th March to create awareness about the importance and value of rivers. The day was formerly known as International Day of Action against Dams, for Rivers, Water, and Life. It was first marked in March 1997.
The year 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the International Day of Action for Rivers. Theme in 2022 is “The Importance of Rivers for Biodiversity”.
