Jharkhand state government has launched Jharkhand Rajya Khadya Suraksha Yojana (JRKSY) on 8 September 2020. It is a separate scheme will guarantee monthly subsidized 5 Kg food grains to poor people.

The new JRKSY scheme will cover around 18 lakh people who are covered by the National Food Security Act (NFSA).
Under Jharkhand Rajya Khadya Suraksha Yojana, beneficiaries will get each kilogram of foodgrains at Rs. 1. Applications for JRKSY scheme can be made through online mode.
The beneficiaries will be segregated on the basis of ward in urban local bodies, district, block and panchayat levels and their names will be published online.
The new JRKSY scheme will cost Rs. 213 crore per annum to the state exchequer. Currently, there are approx. 28 lakh people in Jharkhand who are out of the ambit of NFSA.
