In a significant step toward promoting eco-friendly practices, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has launched the “One Plate, One Bag” campaign at the Maha Kumbh 2025. This initiative aims to make the world’s largest religious congregation plastic-free by encouraging the use of cloth bags and steel plates and glasses instead of plastic alternatives.

The campaign was inaugurated on the Old GT Road in Sector 18 of the Kumbh Mela by RSS Sah-Sarkaryavah Krishna Gopal. As part of the initiative, cloth bags and steel utensils are being distributed to pilgrims, replacing disposable and plastic items. Speaking at the launch event, Gopal emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in combating the plastic menace and urged people to adopt eco-friendly alternatives in their daily lives.
“Creating a plastic-free society is a collective effort. By making small changes such as switching to cloth bags and reusable utensils, we can significantly contribute to the environment,” Gopal said while addressing the attendees.
