About Vishwavidyalaya
Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidyalaya (MGCGV) is India’s first rural university at Chitrakoot, India. This university is an institute dedicated for teaching, learning and research. Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidhyalaya was established by the Government of Madhya Pradesh through legislature by an Act (9, 1991) on February 12, 1991. To establish this university the effort was raised by Social activist Nanaji Deshmukh to skill the rural people to generate rural employment. The University is located on the bank of Holy River Mandakni near Sphatikshila at Chitrakoot.
