Kedarnath Temple is a Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.

It is located in Uttarakhand on the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river.

The temple is one of the four major sites in India’s Chota Char Dham pilgrimage of Northern Himalayas.

Portions of this Himalayan shrine in Uttarakhand were damaged in flash floods in 2013.

The foundation stone of the reconstruction project at Kedarnath were laid in 2017 by the Prime Minister Modi who has visited the shrine on at least three occasions after becoming prime minister for the first time in 2014.

Located in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, the circuit consists of four sites—Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
