Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has introduced the state budget for the financial year 2025-26, with total expenditures reaching ₹2.90 lakh crore. This budget, which was presented on February 17, 2025, focuses on key areas such as agriculture, irrigation, and rural development, aiming to boost the state’s economy. This is the first comprehensive budget from the BJP-led government since it took power last year. The new allocation marks a significant increase from the ₹2.65 lakh crore budget of 2024-25, highlighting the state’s ongoing commitment to economic progress.

How Much Has Been Allocated to Agriculture and Rural Development?

The 2025-26 budget highlights agriculture as a significant area of focus, with an allocation of ₹37,838 crore for agriculture and allied activities.
