Odisha launched ‘Ashirbad’ scheme for COVID-19 Orphan Children
Odisha CM launched the Ashirbad scheme which will provide Rs. 2,500 every month to the orphaned kids and Rs. 1,500 to those who have lost an earning parent to the virus.

Kids moved to welfare homes in the absence of a caretaker will also be eligible for the scheme -applicable from April 2020 and will get an additional Rs. 1,000 every month.
Till the children turn 18, the amounts will be transferred to the bank accounts of their guardians. However, adopted kids are not eligible for the scheme.
If a relative who has taken a child’s responsibility is eligible for a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana, out-of-turn allotment will be made.
