The One Nation One Ration Card’ scheme will be implemented by government across the country from June 1, 2020. The facility of inter-state or national portability of ration card had already begun in 12 states from January 1 this year. This facility would be extended to eight more states by the month of June which would cover around 63 crore beneficiaries of food grains under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).

Under the ‘one nation one ration card’ scheme, any eligible beneficiary will be able to get his/her entitled food grains under the NFSA from any public distribution or fair price shop in the country using the same ration card. The beneficiary will be verified through Aadhaar authentication on the e-POS devices.
