Odisha-based social worker Shanti Devi has passed away at the age of 88. She was awarded the Padma Shri award. She was remembered as the voice of the poor.
Shanti Devi was also called as Lugdi Devi. She was known for her dedication towards the underprivileged community and restoring peace in the Maoist-affected areas in Odisha. In 2021, Shanti Devi was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri award from President Ram Nath Kovind.
