During the Mann ki Baat programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cited the example of Bhagyashree Sahu, young student from Rourkela in Odisha for her keen interest in ‘Pattachitra’ painting.

Patta means cloth, and Chitra means picture. Hence, Pattachitra is a picture painted on a piece of cloth. It is based in the states of West Bengal and Odisha.
