It is difficult to determine whether water is scarce or not. Fresh water is found in lakes, rivers, underground reservoirs and the ocean.
It is used for drinking, agriculture irrigation and many other purposes. Water shortage occurs due to overuse of fresh water sources.
However, this shortage is not uniform throughout our environment. The shortage may be regional or national issue that results in lack of fresh water supply to residents or it can be global issue that threatens everyone.
Countries located in climatic zones are most susceptible to droughts and face great problems of water scarcity.
