Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attend the ADMM-Plus meeting where Defence Ministers of ASEAN countries and eight other nations would gather and discuss the way forward for security cooperation. Defence Ministers from 17 countries of the ADMM-Plus group are participating in the meeting. India was represented by Rajnath Singh. In addition to the 10 ASEAN countries, eight countries such as Japan, the U.S. and China participate at this meeting to promote more practical defence cooperation.

ADMM-Plus is the only official framework of Defence Minister’s meetings in the Asia-Pacific Region. It aims to strengthen the security and defence cooperation for peace, stability, and development in the region. The second ADMM, which was held in Singapore in 2007, adopted the Concept Paper to establish the ADMM-Plus. On 12 October 2010, the inaugural ADMM-Plus was convened in Ha Noi, Vietnam.
